The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is an internationally recognized exam that measures and certifies Japanese language ability for non-native speakers. It assesses reading, writing, listening, and grammar skills across five levels: N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced).

Anyone who wants to study, work, or live in Japan can take the JLPT. There are no age restrictions, and it is suitable for students, professionals, and language enthusiasts.

N5: Basic understanding of Japanese; simple phrases and daily expressions.

N4: Elementary Japanese; can handle everyday situations.

N3: Intermediate; can understand moderately complex texts and conversations.

N2: Upper-intermediate; understands abstract topics and professional settings.

Each section is scored separately. To pass, candidates must achieve the minimum score in each section as well as the overall passing score.
